Dear Parents,

Thank you for your interest in our school.  My name is Maureen Morales and I joined the Flanagans Preschool family in September 1996. I graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a BS in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I hold my certification from the Department of Education in these two areas as well.  I began my career at Flanagan’s teaching the 4 year olds for two years and then I taught Kindergarten for several years after that.  Later, I became the Junior Kindergarten teacher before I became an Assistant Director. When Phoenix Children’s Academy bought our sister school in Plymouth Meeting I stepped into the former director’s position when she transferred to the other location.  I have been the director for 3 years. My commitment to the education and care of the children in our center is a priority for me. I want all the children in our care to feel nurtured but also get a valuable jump start on their education. Having been a teacher I feel I can accurately give advice and ideas to my staff and parents.

I am very proud of the staff here at Flanagan’s Preschool. They are a highly motivated group of professionals that have become very close to each other over the years they have worked here. Many of the staff have worked together for 8 or more years and we have five staff members that have been here for 15 years or more!  Their high level of commitment to our program is evident through their interactions with the children and parents as well as the program they implement on a daily basis. When you enter their classrooms the learning is noticeable the moment you walk in. There is evidence of our Zoo Phonics® program, art, pre-reading, math and science throughout the room. Their number one priority is to keep the children busy and they do this through our Fun With Fitness program, hands-on lessons and gross motor group games and activities both indoors and out! It is an honor to work with such dependable and passionate teachers who only want what is best for every child and the school.

In the past few years we have upgraded our building by implementing centers in each of the classrooms, adding a computer lab and updating our playgrounds. The teachers inform you of your child’s progress through developmental records, portfolios and child service reports as well as giving you the opportunity to have a teacher/parent conference two times a year. The teachers are also available to speak with at drop off and pick up times. We also like to keep parents involved by holding annual events like our Halloween parade, holiday shows/parties, MS Walk-a-thon and Family Fun Night at Uno’s.

I am honored to be the director of such an established preschool in the Conshohocken area. I would love to share with you all the amazing components that make our school such a success.  I look forward to visiting with you.
