To give you a better idea about all that our school has to offer we are excited to introduce you to Tina Licwinko, our Preschool Director at Flanagan’s Preschool in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania.
Dear Families,
Thank you for your interest in Flanagan’s Preschool in Plymouth Meeting. We are located at 2914 Walton Road which is very close to the corner of Germantown Pike and Walton Road. We are conveniently located just ¼ mile from the Plymouth Meeting Mall, Route 476 and the PA Turnpike.
My name is Tina Licwinko and I am the director of the program. I grew up in this area. I attended Montgomery County Community College earning my associates degree in Early Childhood Education. I then attended Albright College and earned my bachelors degree in Organizational Behavior and Applied Psychology. In May 2002, I was selected as one of top three directors in United States by National Association for Child Care Professionals and honored at a convention in St. Louis, MO. I am currently on the Advisory Board of the Central Montgomery County Technical High School Early Childhood Education Program, serving as secretary for the past 3 years. I have worked at Flanagan’s Preschool for 34 years, over 20 of those years in management. I have been at the Plymouth Meeting location for 3 years when we acquired another school and turned it into our third Flanagan’s location. I live in Conshohocken with my husband and daughter. I also have two grown sons and three fantastic grandsons!
Kathy Quarino is our Assistant Director. She has been with Flanagan’s for 10 years. Kathy attended Montgomery County Community College and has her degree in Early Childhood Education. Kathy’s career path took a change and she worked with college age children for twenty years. Upon retiring from Philadelphia University, Kathy came to work for us. While Kathy was involved in her first career, her children were growing up attending Flanagan’s Preschool with Tina’s children. She lives in Lafayette Hill with her husband and 2 sons.
We have over 20 dedicated staff members. Many have their Associates or Bachelors degrees. We have three staff members that are currently enrolled in school to further their knowledge of Early Childhood Education. We are proud of the many long term staff at our school. The average tenure of our staff is over 6 years. This is unprecedented in the childcare field. They are also committed to providing the children with the best foundation to prepare them for public education. Our children consistently enter kindergarten well prepared and we are proud of that reputation in the community.
Since I have 3 children (and grandchildren) of my own I know how hard it is to leave your child in the care of people that you do not know. That is why we believe that strong communication and a family-like bond is critical. Parent newsletters, daily lesson plans and progress reports are some of the ways we keep our families informed about their child and our program. Our family events including our Preschool Graduation, our Grandparent’s Day, the Winter Gingerbread House Decorating Party, and Halloween Parade allow parents the opportunity to get to know one another better and to build a relationship with the children and teachers that their child is spending time with everyday. The home to school bond is a very important element of education and we strongly believe it should start as early as possible.
I invite you and your family to come and visit our school. We are proud of our children, our teachers and the classrooms – we love to show them off. Please feel free to stop in and visit us at your earliest convenience or better yet- make and appointment so we can give you our undivided attention.
